The pub had changed hands many times over the last 50 years and has been owned by a number of different breweries or chains.
However, in July 2010 it was bought outright by a local family – the Crosswaite Family who have lived in the local vicinity and had been long standing customers for nearly 40 years.
Then We Changed Everything!
The first phase was to turn the Tap Room into an a-la-carte restaurant accommodating up to 40 people.
Our Chefs have designed menus featuring innovative and interesting dishes to suit all tastes and preferences using locally grown ingredients. To Compliment the a-la-carte menu we also offer a range of specials from Thursday to Saturday.
The second phase was to fully refurbish the bar including fitting patio doors to allow access to the extended patio with additional disabled access and further areas so customers can enjoy dining al fresco during the summer months.
The third phase was to create luxury accommodation and a breakfast dining area from the rooms in the upper area that were once used as living quarters – this involved meticulous planning to make the pub back into an Inn – with 3 elegant rooms of made to our expectations and to suit and cater for every taste.
